How TWR made the invisible visible through interactive installations

Trans World Radio (TWR) has a remarkable mission: they bring hope. Across borders, through wars, beyond censorship and language barriers. Through radio, podcasts and digital media, they reach millions of people, often in places where few other voices can be heard.

But how do you tell an abstract story without losing people in numbers or emotions?
That was exactly the challenge we tackled together with TWR: creating three interactive installations that let people feel what words sometimes can’t explain.

The challenges behind TWR’s mission

TWR’s work is deeply impactful, but they faced several challenges:

  • How do you make a mission tangible that’s bigger than yourself?
  • How do you engage a younger generation that quickly tunes out?
  • How do you bring powerful work to life without getting stuck in reports and presentations?

Our task was clear: how do we make people pause, feel something real, and never forget the stories of those whose lives TWR touches?

A digital experience that moves people

We designed three experiences that quite literally make people stop in their tracks. Museum-quality installations that allow visitors to discover for themselves, without an overload of text. Stories of relief, recovery, and resilience. The very essence of TWR’s daily work:

  • Personal stories from people around the world, brought to life through animation and projection.
  • An immersive earthquake simulation with a vibrating platform and visuals, recreating the urgency of emergency response.
  • Interactive conversation simulations about the complex aftercare TWR provides to those in need.

Technology that serves the message

What makes this experience powerful is that technology isn’t the star, the people are.

  • No flashy visuals for the sake of it, but storytelling that moves you.
  • Intuitive and user-friendly: plug & play, no manual required.
  • Built for the future: content can be easily updated and expanded.

The result? An experience that doesn’t just impress, it sticks

Why this approach works for your organization too

If you work for a foundation, NGO, or impact-driven organization, you know: your work is about people, not data.
But how do you show that to someone who’s never heard your story before?

Interactive installations bring your mission to life:

– Accessible and human
– Emotional and visual
– Timeless and scalable

And most importantly: they make real impact. Because you’re not just telling what you do, you’re showing why you do it.
