The immortalization of an icon
The Efteling Haunted Castle is a place where fairy tales come to life. This is an eerie attraction ‘Spookslot’ (Haunted Castle) and it is currently making way for a new spooky-themed and unique attraction to the Efteling. Efteling amusement park, is driven by its creative philosophy of crafting tales and attractions to be experienced from generation to generation. They decided to digitally immortalize the Spookslot in an Efteling Spookslot Metaverse.
We engaged in a remarkable collaboration between Efteling and PelserHartman. We embarked on the journey to create an incredible 3D experience of the Spookslot within the metaverse. However, this was no simple task! Our team had to process over 4 billion polygons. We had to deploy a unique blend of techniques to ensure smooth performance across all devices. To enhance the realism of the experience, we also utilized 360° photography to enhance the scan data.
But that wasn’t all. To ensure the end product’s security and exclusive access for Efteling staff, we created an NFT gateway accessible only to them.
The outcome is an astonishing 3D experience that brings the Spookslot to life in an entirely new way. We are honoured to have worked on this project with Efteling and PelserHartman and are incredibly proud of the innovative work we’ve collectively achieved.
