We aim to blow people away with experiences that last a lifetime. To achieve this, we harness the latest techniques and technologies. In Techy Tuesdays, we dive deep and thoroughly explore our technologies from top to bottom. In this article, we answer the question: How do you bring a brand to life with augmented reality (AR)?
The Basics of Augmented Reality
Augmented reality is a technique that overlays a digital layer onto the real world. The environment is scanned, and digital elements are generated within it. These elements adapt seamlessly to the lighting and scale of the surroundings, creating a realistic experience. This technology works on almost all mobile devices, making it widely accessible for brands and companies to start leveraging.
Test VanMoof in Your Own Living Room
Fan or not, everyone in The Netherlands knows VanMoof. These iconic electric bikes are primarily sold online. This requires a different sales process than traditional bikes, which you can easily buy at your local bike shop. Before making a pricey purchase, you’d want to take a good look at the bike first. But how do you do that in a webshop? The answer: augmented reality. We created an interactive AR model of the different VanMoof bikes, allowing potential customers to place them in their own surroundings. This way, visitors to vanmoof.com could check out the bikes right from the comfort of their living rooms.

Your Brand Needs to Come Alive by 2025
We don’t need to tell you that your brand is more than just a logo. Nowadays, a brand is a system of diverse elements—visuals, animations, text, sound, digital assets, and more. Leading companies are continuously evolving their brands, keeping them ahead of the curve in the market. Increasingly, organizations are using extended reality, including AR, to bring their brands to life. With augmented reality, you offer customers and users an inspiring way to interact with your brand. Especially with the rise of the Apple Vision Pro, Meta Orion AR glasses, and the Metaverse, it’s hard to ignore: a modern brand needs extended reality to stay relevant.
The Philharmonic Orchestra Comes to Life in the Streets of Rotterdam
A living brand sounds great, but how does it work in practice? The Philharmonic Orchestra gives us the answer. We brought their brand to life in the streets of Rotterdam using augmented reality in the Digital Out Of Home (DOOH) campaign ‘Open to Wonder’. The physical posters acted as AR markers, coming fully to life with a simple web scan. What made it even better: no separate app was needed for this digital experience. This allowed the Philharmonic Orchestra to engage with any passerby carrying a smartphone.

Augmented Reality x Social Media
Your social media platforms are essential when it comes to your brand. AR can bring your brand to life here as well. Users can interact with your brand through branded filters on platforms like Snapchat and Instagram. And when people use your branded filters, they share them with their own followers, allowing you to reach even more people with branded content.
