In 2022, UEFA Mastercard hosted an event for its key executives from around the world, celebrating the virtual Champions League. We created a Virtual Reality experience for the executives to introduce them to this technology in an engaging manner. However, there was a small twist during the event.

During the UEFA Champions League 2022 event, we had the wonderful opportunity to travel to Paris with a significant portion of our team. We were invited to be part of an exclusive event organized by Mastercard for its key executives from all around the world.
Our mission? At the exquisite Four Seasons Hotel, we had the privilege to offer Mastercard’s guests an immersive football-related activity through a Metaverse experience. Intended for entertainment, but also to acquaint Mastercard’s executives with the intriguing possibilities of VR.

As soon as the guests donned their Apple VR headsets, they found themselves in a digital UEFA Champions League museum. They could freely roam and explore the exhibition, including images, objects, and videos. After their museum tour, they were greeted by none other than Luís Figo, who took them on a journey through his personal Champions League experiences and the triumph of clinching that coveted trophy.

Mastercard had another exciting surprise in store. As the guests removed their VR headsets, the real Luís Figo entered the room to meet the attendees, sign autographs, and take photos.
The goal of this project?
Mastercard‘s aim was to introduce its executives to VR in an interactive and educational manner. The direct immersion in the experience highlighted the immersive power of VR. Guests could personally experience the sensation of ‘walking around’ in VR, providing an impressive introduction that may encourage future adoption of this technology.

UEFA MasterCard Success? Absolute success!
Offering a VR experience at an event like this underscores the innovative nature of a brand or company. It encourages people to embrace and explore new technologies. While simultaneously showcasing the company’s vision and forward-thinking approach. Because we provided highly guided assistance throughout the experience. All executives were able to navigate smoothly through the games. With one-on-one brief explanations about the headset, some guidance mounting it, and adjustments for the focus. The experience was a success for everyone.
