VR Training programs are designed to make learning even more visual. For many tasks, training is provided to instruct employees or operators. Trainings are provided on the use of a device or the operation of equipment. They may also receive a tour of the work environment. This will give explanations about various (hazardous) substances, or equipment they will be working with.

These types of training, and many others, are essential for workplace safety and the continuity of work tasks. Virtual Reality can be used to conduct these training sessions digitally, allowing for the simulation of dangerous situations without real danger. Employers can save time on equipment preparation, setting up the work environment, and outfitting all new employees in safety gear when these training sessions and environments are digitally provided in VR.

For example, we created a VR experience for Holmatro where users could become familiar with hydraulic cutters.  This is without the risk of actually cutting off limbs during the introduction. We also set up a VR training for Perfetti Van Melle. This training guided prospective employees on a tour of the factory and provided instructions on the equipment. Employees didn’t need to travel for the training but could follow it at their own location.

Because a VR experience is so remarkable and stimulating to the senses, it leaves a lasting impression on users. This results in high compliance and engagement during training programs. Users are likely to retain much of the training afterwards. Because, our brains respond very well to information presented through this immersive, interactive, and three-dimensional manner.
