How cool! We have been nominated for a Dutch Interactive Award (DIA award) in the Digital Transformation category. Proud, particularly because it is a validation of what we have long believed; XR is going to have a big impact in the workplace.
Evolve with XR
Technological developments are moving incredibly fast, so fast that it is sometimes hard to stand still to see which innovations can really start to make an impact on the way we work. It is easy to swear by the way we have always done it. But, this creates opportunities for the competition to get ahead and perform better and differentiate through new innovations.
Augmented and Virtual Reality are now mature platforms in many areas where the fruits are ripe for harvest.
These techniques are already being used on the shop floor to train and support employees, make them operate more effectively and are also very suitable for onboarding.
In this, Perfetti van Melle sets an example in the industry as far as we’re concerned, where they don’t rush into gimmicks, but make well-considered choices that make a difference.
Industry 4.0
All these developments make for a new landscape called Industry 4.0 that uses data and smart systems to create the “smart factory.” Thus, we reduce downtime, work more effectively, operate more securely and training and courses stay up to date many times longer.
Virtual Reality Risk Assessment.
But what exactly did we make? In cooperation with Sping we realized a unique Virtual Reality Training Platform for Risk Assessment. The platform was seamlessly integrated into their Totara e-learning platform. The VR was shot on location at one of their factories in Shanghai with state-of-the-art Jaunt cameras. In doing so, we contribute the solutions that facilitate responsible growth. We also assisted in the effective onboarding and training of new employees, in 32 plants, in dozens of countries, around the world. Fab clinics are complex and dynamic environments in which it is important that employees are aware of all important protocols and risk factors.
